My February
Have you ever heard the song "Stronger" by Sara Evans? That's honestly my theme song right now... I listen to it at least 2-3 times a day... It makes me okay...
I always ask to anyone that walks into Shoe Solutions "how are you doing?" and just this past week I've realized that I pretend to listen but I haven't really been paying attention, since then I've been actually paying attention to their tone and to the way the stand and how they respond. So many people are hurting and so many people are having bad experiences and SO many people have hard lives... Are we the people that are complaining or are we the people that are listening to HOW people are doing? I think so many times we ask but we don't really care to know... and that's "normal" I guess but is it?
When people ask me how I'm doing I want them to listen like I've been trying to but I think that everyone is so caught up into OUR lives and what's happening to ME and not about the other people that are hurting...
Challenge!
When someone asks you how you're doing give them the REAL answer not the one we want people to hear...
When YOU ask someone how they're doing ACTUALLY listen and take the time to be there for them even though we are all to busy...
Lately I have become friends with everyone that used to be my friends and I know now that I am not alone.. I know that I have people around me that care and love me and I am the same for them... When you listen and care there are always people that will do that for you!

ReplyDeleteEven when we say, "How are you?" we don"t mean, "How are you?" - we don't care. Just give us a "fine" or a "good" - a one syllyble answer and move along. And don"t even say "pretty good". That's a follow-up question: "pretty good" "something happen?... I don"t... have... time to..."
I accept your challenge!
You're real cute.
I love ellen!!! and you.. .:)
